You have to keep in mind that the game is 4 years old... it can only stay fresh for so long.
Buy the exp if you want, some of them are so cheap it won't matter too much. I think GW 2 isnt going to come out till atleast 2010, you have plenty of time to kill. |

Other than that I would get an expansion given the low price in the stores. Guess it comes down to how much your enjoying the game against how much spare cash you have. |

I must be in the minority here...
My guild has always accepted new members on the basis of character over in-game competence. Hence, it is full of great people who are super-nice and more than willing to share with others, whether it be items or information. The flip side, of course, is that not everyone in the group has a high level of GW aptitude. For example, one of my good friends carries RoJ as a ranger just because she likes seeing the animation. It can be difficult to effectively complement (or most often, carry) situations such as these, so I usually just H/H unless there is a specific task which someone has requested help for. Then I do my best to politely offer constructive criticism about builds or tactics or whatever along the way. In effect, for me the guild is sort of like an instant messenger client with a game attached. |

Thing is, builds don't matter much in PvE. All the skill "balances" and sometimes COMPLETE changes have pretty much killed a LOT of PvE. And I'm not talking about overpowered skills on the player side.
Recently went through the Proph missions on my paragon, doing the primary quests on the way, etc. In the jungle, the trees that use [energizing wind] have a 0 level, 0 duration spirit. Outside Fort Ranik, the charr necromacers with [faintheartedness] don't have any degen on it. All the nerfs to skills because players found new and interesting ways to abuse them have totally killed the enemies. The Assassins from the popular Halcyon Job farm used to be stronger, now they might as well be charmable pets, for all the damage they do. I'm not talking about HM here, where they have their attributes set at 20 and crazy stuff like that. PvE is easy, with a big of thought. Almost any build will work, although some will be better than others. If you want to group, go to the American districts. I had an easy time finding groups there when going through the jungle, so everywhere else should be pretty easy as well |
